“That’s one small step for marketing, but one giant leap for design.”
Overheard on one of the floors, at the Point:
Scene: One of our Exec's is leading someone out to the door....
"Mind the boxes.... It wouldn't be a publishing house without boxes."
Scene: 7th floor hallway where elevators are located. Two friends and coworkers are waiting for the elevator to go up.
Employee #1 [while quickly looking at Employee #2’s shirt]: Oh no! I forgot to wear my squirrel shirt!
Employee #2: Didn’t you have that on your calendar though?
Employee #1: Yes! For months!
Employee #2: The only reason I remembered was because Craig Ferguson was talking about Penguin Awareness Day last night.
Employee #1: And I was going to wear the same shirt you’re wearing! We would have matched….again!
Apparently, January 21st was Squirrel Appreciation Day.
A conversation between two coworkers. Let's call them A and B (Please keep in mind we publish books, and don't work at a lab, in a hospital, or at a research center).
A: Bacteria should die
B: Except that we need it...?
A: But do we need all of it? And at the same time, shouldn't viruses have a right to live?
B: Uhh-
A: Furthermore, this brings up the issue of AI and Robots. These are not living, but they certainly have a right to be. And if viruses are living, these should be too.
B: I think you should go think about that at your desk in the place of our cancelled meeting.
